Precut sheets are purchased directly from a paper supplier in stock sizes that are determined by the paper mill or manufacturer. Often times there is more waste associated with sheet to sheet printing, which drives up costs.
Roll To Sheet Printing
Roll To Sheet Printing is when the paper starts into the feeder end of the press on a continuous web roll and is cut to length just before it gets to the printing units on the press. Once the sheet is cut to length it continues through the press as an individual sheet. A web press cuts the sheet after it is through the printing units of the press.
