When checking proofs, there is no substitute for looking at a "hard" proof, such as those produced by our Epson digital proofers. With the quick turnaround times required on many projects, however, e-mailing PDF files can be the quickest way to check and approve last-minute changes and corrections before outputting plates, thus allowing tight schedules to be maintained.

PDF proofs that are created using our AGFA Apogee system may not display properly when using older versions of Adobe® Acrobat® or Adobe® Reader®. In order to properly view trapped PDF proofs from Ries Graphics, we recommend using Adobe Acrobat 6.0 (or later) or Adobe Reader 7.0 (or later), using the following settings:

Adobe Reader 9:
(NOTE: Adobe Reader is available as a free download.)
Open the
Preferences window. Under Categories, click Page Display. Using the pull-down menu, change Use Overprint Preview to Always.

Adobe Reader 7, 8:
Open the Preferences window. Under Categories, click Page Display, then check Overprint Preview.

Acrobat 7 or higher:
Either activate Overprint Preview in Preferences -> Page Display (similar to Adobe Reader 7) or make sure Overprint Preview is checked in the Advanced menu. In addition, you may wish to activate the Output Preview feature to check color percentages, spot colors, etc.

Acrobat 6:
In the Advanced menu, make sure Overprint Preview is checked. In addition, you may wish to activate the Separation Preview feature to check color percentages, spot colors, etc.
